Verified Jobs, Real Confidence
After falling for multiple fake job offers online, I started verifying recruiters and companies using Profiled. During one check, I discovered that a supposed “top company” recruiter was a scammer using a cloned email domain. Since then, Profiled has become my first step before applying for any job - helping me protect my personal data and peace of mind.
How It Started: It began when I received yet another job offer through email. The recruiter claimed to represent a well-known logistics company and offered me an irresistible position with great pay. The message included a “formal” offer letter and asked for a processing fee for training materials. At first glance, everything looked legitimate - company logo, HR signature, even a supposed reference number. The Problem: I had already fallen victim to two fake job schemes earlier that year - both involved fake recruiters collecting money for “application processing.” Losing that money was painful, but what scared me most was that these people also had access to my personal documents. When this new offer came in, it looked real, but I couldn’t afford another mistake.
How I Talked to Profiled Nigeria: Before responding, I went to www.profiled.ng and used the Recruiter Verification feature. I entered the company name, recruiter’s email address, and phone number. Within seconds, the system flagged inconsistencies between the recruiter’s domain and the company’s official profile. The email wasn’t linked to any registered HR department or business listing. I reached out to Profiled’s support team via chat for a detailed review. They quickly confirmed that the email domain had been reported previously under job scam alerts, and the same “HR representative” name had appeared in multiple fraudulent listings. How Profiled Detected and Neutralized the Scammer: Profiled’s AI-powered verification system cross-checked the recruiter’s details against verified company databases and past scam reports. It detected that the supposed HR representative was impersonating a real company using a cloned domain that differed by one letter from the authentic company name. The Profiled Cyber Intelligence Team traced the scammer’s pattern, added their contact details to the Fraudulent Recruiters Watchlist, and issued a Public Recruitment Alert to warn other job seekers. That action didn’t just protect me - it stopped the impersonator from deceiving more Nigerians looking for honest work. Conclusion: That single verification saved me from another emotional and financial setback. It also reminded me that no legitimate company should ever ask for payment before employment. Now, every time I get an offer, I verify the recruiter first. Thanks to Profiled, I’ve turned fear into confidence and confusion into control.
